Japanese macaques in the snow

Winter has arrived and our Japanese macaques enjoy the snow.

Visitors will be pleased to observe these small monkeys in the snow when visiting the Zoo sauvage this winter.

These primates are remarkably well adapted to cold. They have a thick fur and a layer of fat that keep them warm. They also have a short tail that prevents heat loss. Finally, they socially thermoregulate which means that they hug each other to keep warm.

Come and enjoy the beautiful habitat and the Japanese macaques.
