The Japanese macaques have arrived at the Zoo

After a long trip of more than 12 hours, the troup of 16 Japanese macaques has arrived Tuesday night, May 1st. The groupe came from the Toronto zoo.
The keepers that made the trip with the macaques were tired but excited by their adventure. It was espacially stressful for the monkeys but as soon as they were free in their new night quarter habitat, they soon explored and took over all the available space.
In the weeks to come, our animal health department and the keepers will keep a constant eye on the precious animals. Visitors will have the chance to observe the primates in their new exterior habitat around the beginning of June. The new habitat is completely different from what is done else where because the animals will be presented in a natural environment, close to their naturel one.
They will soon be happy to welcome you!
